The painting 'The lightness of loneliness' is minimalist. It's about being alone and dying without gloom.
Verortung I-II (shift I-II) is showing an equilibrium of form and colour, motion and stillness; it is shifting weights in ease as a variation of the given moment...
'The bitter sunflowers' tell the story of a future: where are we going with a world of pollution, contamination, carelessness. The tragedy of the passing of untouched beauty and nature.
This mixed media picture, consisting of canvas and hand-carved wood, is part of an installation 'Untitled'. It embodies the image of a man and his relationship to women in society.
In this artwork I wanted to express Post-Soviet period ( 90's )in Georgia, when people did not have electricity, natural gas and worm water. We were using candles and oil lamps ( which had specific smell)for lighting space. Itself, the broken glass of the lamp show that we overcame that period. This artwork is limited (5/5) edition and exclusive for...
I made this sculpture out of Rhenish basalt. I open up the rough surface and create tiered, open interiors with narrow spaces. It is a game with architectural forms in which natural form and artistic intervention create a field of tension - it is up to the viewer to fill this space in an associative way.
Equilibrium of form and color, motion and moment of stillness, shifting between landscape and architecture
Rhenish basalt sculpture from the series stones of friends and neighbors. My neighbor, a truck driver, gave me this stone. From a quarry on Donnersberg, an old volcano on the western edge of the Rhine Valley. I opened the surfaces, experimented with different structures, and connected the front and back with the profile.
This work is part of a diptych based on Pablo Neruda's poetry collection Acrylic on linen, 120x140cm It shows the love sonnets and the pure sonnets in Chile
I created this sculpture from a piece of blue, fine-grain Lanhelin granite from Normandy. I open the compact volume with prismatic, undercut slots at the bottom and cranked, narrowed notches at the top. Sawn outer surfaces border on broken surfaces, which is reminiscent of rubble or fragments, but is due to the fact that the shape goes beyond the format....
His artistic reflections, thoughts and concepts are the product of his surrounding environs. He is inspired by observations of daily life occurrences, nourished by numerous political and cultural elements.
Tribute to Miles Davis I sawed steel clamping pieces for fastening railway tracks on the sleepers in strips. With the cut-open guide rails of the roller doors from the goods hall of a former train station (my studio), arranged in a row in a series and welded together, two strands result. Two elements to be placed in variable arrangement, 230x8x3 cm and...
Paperwork (Gouache, drawing cardboard): Concrete spatial experiences are linked to associative threads. Between art space and context, a friction arises, creating a sphere of fading. By sounding out spaces, a visual and philosophical state of suspension is created.
Edition of 15 3-color screen print 2020 33 x 24 cm (printed surface: A4)
This stone, a Taunus quartzite, is a converted Devonian sandstone. It has the yellow-gray-red bands typical of this material, which are cut by white quartz veins. I opened the piece and divided it into two chambers separated by a thin rod. The walls of the interior are criss-crossed by natural stratification and it is up to the beholder to decide to...
Paperwork (Gouache, drawing cardboard): From the cycle "Dem Campo de´Fiori und dem Neuen Blumenplatz". Individual blue particles folded into each other form a slightly shifted but recognizable center and simultaneously dissolve it. Homage to the mathematician and philosopher Giordano Bruno (1600): If there is no finiteness in mathematics, there can be...
The Arabic word Malqaf means wind catcher - an architectural element that catches the wind over the roof and directs it down into the building, where it cools the rooms. My Malqaf is a sculpture, made from a small basalt column, with a cascade of stepped surfaces that open into a dark opening on the underside of the sculpture. Reminiscent of our trip to...
I made this statue out of a piece of Lanhelin granite from Normandy. This material, a bluish, finely crystalline granite, was used in the region as early as the Middle Ages, for example on Mont St. Michel. Prolonged exposure to air, sun and salt water leads to redness and rust. This is how the blue-red gradient came about. If this process goes on for...
In this artwork I took during Covid-19. I wanted to express everyday 'Isolation' of Women. Still there are a lot of women Post-Soviet countries who did not have 'Voice' in their family, thay are 24/7 365 days in 'Isolation'. with my artwork I want to send message to all women who are in a such situations - Don't give up! Be Strong, and brake The Wall!
'Landscape congealed in bloom': here a moment, an image, is frozen, as we suddenly came to a standstill in a world of Covid-19 in spring.
This mixed media picture, consisting of canvas and hand-carved wood, is part of an installation 'Untitled'. It embodies the image of a woman and discusses her role in society.
Marsh lime and marble powder on MDF. Color with ink, pigments and wax.
This work comes from the series 'travailler dans la joie c'est le secret du bonheur'. Acrylic on linen, 120x140cm
White and black creates a field of silence and the power of creation in the range between the antidotes of white and black
Reduction in variation An almost-white, illuminated from behind and around
There are many invisible shapes and colors beneath the surface of the almost white painting. It's about the process: what happens when you paint and remove something, layer by layer, often more than 20 layers of what's left. Acrylic on linen, 120x130cm
Equilibrium of form and color, motion and moment of stillness, shifting between landscape and architecture
