It "tells of the almost mystical compulsive feeling of wanting to reach the horizon over the sea, standing on the shore. Olaf Hoppe succeeds in giving shape to this theme, which is unusual for a woodcut, and in wrestling it from the wooden surface without violating its own laws, which tend to oppose a dissolution into the spatial, by superimposing five colours on top of each other in a glaze, so that they are able to influence each other - similar to watercolour."
