  • I made this statue out of a piece of Lanhelin granite from Normandy. This material, a bluish, finely crystalline granite, was used in the region as early as the Middle Ages, for example on Mont St. Michel.
  • Prolonged exposure to air, sun and salt water leads to redness and rust. This is how the blue-red gradient came about. If this process goes on for thousands of years, the stone will eventually crumble on earth.
  • For us, archetypes made of hard stone for identity and stability - for eternity - are a human fiction given the cycle of rocks.
