Politics - Bronze Sculpture by Aliev

Aliev, Gyunay

This bronze sculpture, titled Politik, is a satirical reflection on politics, created in 1997 during Aliev´s time as a fine art student. The piece features a contorted figure, its head twisted through its legs in an absurd, almost impossible pose, capturing a sense of tension and disorientation. Measuring 14 × 6 × 6 cm, the sculpture is mounted on a sandstone base. It was produced using the traditional lost-wax casting technique (cire perdue), demonstrating careful craftsmanship throughout every stage, from casting and refining to detailed chiseling and patination.
