This painting on canvas depicts a nude figure with a bird in a dynamic, animated arrangement. The two appear to be dancing, expressing a zest for life. The composition is rendered in vibrant orange, pink, ultramarine, light blue, black, and white. Because the paint was applied in a highly diluted, fluid state, the work was created with the canvas lying flat on the ground. The creative process is characterized by a playful approach and the layering of paint to create varied textures. A vague concept takes shape during the work process through the application of flowing lines and distinct planes onto the canvas. The image is composed of both organic and geometric elements; the lines dynamically structure the pictorial surface, while geometric abstraction and figurative forms interact. The two figures, caught up in joyful, unselfconscious movement, embody the joy of living. The nude figure alludes to human existence, while the bird represents nature and fauna in harmonious coexistence, perhaps a vision or a wish brought to life in the image.
"From a web of lines, planes, shapes, and structures—balanced by matte and luminous colors—I create landscapes, flora and fauna, and motifs drawn from the animate and inanimate natural world. Through a dynamic rhythm and the use of flowing colors, painterly, ornamental, and expressive elements transform into allegories of life. From the very beginning, my artistic work has expressed a deep connection to nature, born of curiosity and a constant interest in observing the natural world—observations that I then translate into visual art. My themes are diverse, and I often explore them through series—ranging from small to large formats—using printmaking, drawing, and painting on paper, canvas, or wood. I am fascinated by the role of humanity within nature and by its regenerative, cyclical nature, just as I am captivated by the lyrical beauty of its visual appearance. Through the layering of paint and eruptive, expressive gestures, I distill my compositions down to the utmost simplicity and poignancy—creating hymns to nature and life."
