Klimt´s Heart - Contemporary Painting Gold by Barbara Schauß

KLIMT’S HEART was created by the artist in 2018 to mark the centenary of Gustav Klimt’s death. She incorporated elements such as gold-colored metal leaf and built up the work in numerous layers. The shapes visible in the image are reminiscent of Klimt’s paintings. The artwork is unframed but ready to hang, though various framing options remain open.

"My artistic roots lie in Impressionism. I have been particularly influenced by the French Impressionists. Nature is my greatest source of inspiration. Today, my work can be viewed as a journey "from Impressionism to Abstraction." Representational and abstract painting now play an equally important role in my artistic practice.

I work primarily with oil, acrylic, and mixed media in a variety of formats. My creative process is characterized by both spontaneous painting and elaborate, multi-layered compositions that evolve through numerous layers.

I began exhibiting my work 20 years ago. Today, my paintings can be found in collections around the world."
