Red Sky - Oil Painting by Annette Selle

Selle, Annette

German oil painter Annette Selle creates works that balance texture, color, and atmosphere with poetic subtlety. In this piece, layers of yellow, blue, white, grey and soft pinks dissolve into abstraction. Surprising even the artist herself, the painting achieves a state of independence, offering viewers a space to connect with their own realities. The harmonious blend of serene tones and dynamic textures creates a tranquil atmosphere, inviting viewers to lose themselves in the beauty of abstraction and personal introspection.

Annette Selle: "When is the point reached where the paint applied to the canvas becomes a picture? When does the paint material transform into an independent image? When does the application of paint take on a life of its own and follow a plan? I ask myself this question again and again during the painting process. All questions are forgotten when my painting surprises me. Then the painting achieves its own independence, and the painting has achieved a certain distance,  from me and from the viewer. A space emerges, one that wasn't there before."
