Chris Kister

1960 born in Stuttgart

1980 High School Diploma

1980-1988 photo school at the Johannes Gutenberg School Stuttgart, additional classic vocational training as a photographer and various assistances at photo studios.

Since 1989 until today, self-employed as Freelance photographer and photo artist located in Frankfurt/M, Member of the BFF Association of Independent Photographers and Film-Makers in Germany, Member of the BBK Professional Association of Visual Artists and Member of Freelens.

Artistic approach:

The artist has focused on working in abstract photography and artistic portrait photography. With his abstract photography, he explores the limits of photography to painting and graphics and exceeds them... To do this, the artist not only limits himself to the typical photo-realistic visual language but also uses photographic means to create a mannered visual effect that is often reminiscent of painting or graphics. Chris Kister uses the stylistic device of abstraction to create a stronger emotional expression with multi-layered worlds of meaning and personal scope for interpretation.

For this purpose, he uses various photographic techniques and computer-assisted image processing, in particular for the development of complex collage techniques, using his images, which he has photographed himself, to almost incomprehensible processing and thus makes them unique.
