Born in Wehr in 1929, Lothar Weiß was artistically active from 1945. His career began in the private art school of the expressionist Ernst Honigberger in Wehr. He then attended the Art School for Textile and Interior Design in Basel, and also completed the evening semester of the Basel Art School.
