Lia de Craen (* 1957) is a fine artist from the Netherlands and studied from 1977-1981 at the Breda Drawing Academy.
Nature and movement are the central sources of inspiration for her powerful and colorful works. Change and transience of the life cycle are the essence and are meant to express that the old already has the new.

Using various raw materials such as cement, paste, sand or gravel, a layering is modeled, which together with a well-considered use of color creates the tension between structure and color.
The artist goes through this process until literally: "Layer by layer, the picture appears that reflects the abstract essence of the original and natural picture."
