In the late 1990s, Carrie Meijer started making expressive, abstract acrylic paintings and gouaches. Later her art took on a stricter character. She started to use parallel horizontal lines intersected by vertical lines and geometric and rhythmic pen drawings were created. Her first lithographs and linocuts were created around 2006.

In recent years she developed an interest in new printing techniques. Digital prints are the result of this. One of these prints was nominated for the Ilse Boon Graphic Prize in 2012.

She also made small artist's books with pen drawings, photos and digital prints.

Carrie Meijer lives and works in Amsterdam and regularly exhibits in various places in the Netherlands. She is also a welcome exhibitor at the annual Deutsch-Niederländische Grafikbörse in Borken, Germany.

Her work is included in the Wilploo collection in Enschede and that of the Aldegrever-Gesellschaft e.V. in Münster, Germany.
