Tower ll

Centmayer, Marcus

  • I created this sculpture from a piece of blue, fine-grain Lanhelin granite from Normandy.
  • I open the compact volume with prismatic, undercut slots at the bottom and cranked, narrowed notches at the top.
  • Sawn outer surfaces border on broken surfaces, which is reminiscent of rubble or fragments, but is due to the fact that the shape goes beyond the format.
  • An outer surface shows a red-blue rusting - which occurs when iron-containing rocks are exposed to water, wind and atmospheric oxygen.
