I created this sculpture from a piece of blue, fine-grain Lanhelin granite from Normandy.
I open the compact volume with prismatic, undercut slots at the bottom and cranked, narrowed notches at the top.
Sawn outer surfaces border on broken surfaces, which is reminiscent of rubble or fragments, but is due to the fact that the shape goes beyond the format.
An outer surface shows a red-blue rusting - which occurs when iron-containing rocks are exposed to water, wind and atmospheric oxygen.
