Centmayer, Marcus

  • This stone, a Taunus quartzite, is a converted Devonian sandstone.
  • It has the yellow-gray-red bands typical of this material, which are cut by white quartz veins. I opened the piece and divided it into two chambers separated by a thin rod.
  • The walls of the interior are criss-crossed by natural stratification and it is up to the beholder to decide
  • to reconstruct the previous state.
  • The processed surfaces are sanded with a hand scraper, the sculpture as a whole embedded with linseed oil. From the series "Stones from Friends" and Neighbors
